Identified colonies or cats are systematically and humanely trapped to start the process.

Trapped kitties are transported for their spay/neuter appointment

While in vet care, they are vaccinated to prevent diseases and also ear-tipped to easily identify that they have gone through TNVR

After recovery, the cats are then picked up by their Colony Caregivers and returned to the exact location they were trapped

Cats reproduce rapidly. Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) is the only effective, humane way to keep the cat populations from getting out of control and to prevent the suffering of unwanted litters of kittens.
Our TNVR program supports caregivers, residents and property owners within the City of Woodstock and the bounds of Oxford County who are managing outdoor or community cats. Each request is reviewed based on need, location, and available resources.
We’re here to help! Start by submitting a TNVR application through our website. From there, our team will assess the situation and work with you to determine next steps, which may include trapping support, spay/neuter services and guidance on ongoing care.
In some cases, if the cat presents itself as sociable and friendly, our volunteers will conduct a behaviour assessment with the animal. If the animal passes this assessment, and shelter space allows, we transfer the animal to one of our local partners to start the process to be matched with their furever home.
There are many ways to support TNVR! You can volunteer, donate, assist with transportation, or help at fundraising events. Every contribution—big or small—helps us continue this important work for community cats.
